Benefits of Membership Western Catholic Union is a fraternal benefit society, which has been providing insurance, social programs, and benefits for its members since its founding in 1877. There are significant discounts on brand name and generic drugs. There is unlimited use for instant discounts. There are no claims to file One card covers everyone in your household. The card is honored only at participating pharmacies nationwide. ScriptSave provides educational wellness information. There is further savings and promotions on pharmacy products, up to 50% discounts on vision related services, and discounts on customized vitamin supplement program. Value Preferred Program information provides additional prescription savings opportunities to discuss with your healthcare provider. Hotel Savings Program The Hotel Savings Program allows you to save 10% off the "Best Available Rate" at thousands of participating locations throughout U.S. and Canada. WCU Baseball Bash• Sponsored annually by WCU, members can attend a St. Louis Cardinals game and all-you-can-eat buffet at discounted rates, Safe Harbor Plan A high school graduation gift of life insurance as a fraternal benefit with the option of a more permanent plan at age 25. WCU Catholic High School Scholarship Five $1.000 scholarships are awarded each year to students who attend Catholic High Schools, are WCU members, as well as one parent, and demonstrate both community involvement and motivation in academics. WCU Catholic Grade School Grants Ten $500 grants are awarded each year to students who attend Catholic Grade Schools, are WCU members, and whose parent is a member of WCU. Insurance and Security Plans Plans designed for every need and situation, including life, health, disability, and major medical insurance, as well as pension, long term care and Medicare supplement. Plans can be purchased through a Western Catholic Union representative. Orphan Benefit Plan Financial assistance to orphaned children of WCU members. Eligible children are covered until their 19th birthday. Newborn Child Plan If at least one parent is a WCU member, a $25,000 life plan will be provided for newborn children with a statement of good health. The first year’s premium will be provided as a membership benefit. WCU Matching Funds Program WCU will match funds raised by the individual branches and districts up to $500 per event or program. Spiritual Enrichment and Reflection Enrichment and reflection activities include: An annual pilgrimage Memorial masses for deceased members Breakfast and dinner masses as scheduled by branches and districts Branch Support Programs The William H. Lakebrink Award for Excellence – given annually to the top three WCU branches Gerald A. Wiewel Vocation Scholarship Two $1,000 awards given annually to young men and women who are pursuing religious vocations. Afghans for Vocations Funding for the Gerald A. “Tony” Wiewel Vocation Scholarship Your donation or membership into WCU’s Afghans for Vocations club will help fund two annual scholarships of $1,000 to deserving men and women. Membership fee is the purchase of tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5.Your name will be placed in a monthly drawing for a year. A beautiful hand-made afghan is given to the 1st name drawn. 2nd will receive $10, 3rd and 4th - $5. |
